James Badge Dale feels lucky & blessed to work on “Carve”
James Badge Dale is no stranger to being in front of an audience or a camera, but as he takes part in Chautauqua Theater Company’s 2011 New Play Workshop Festival, he admits this is by far the shortest amount of time he’s had to work on a theater production.
Dale, who is famous for his roles in television and film such as AMC’s “Rubicon,” “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” “24,” “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: N.Y.,” “The Pacific,” “Lord of the Flies” and “The Departed,” said he was looking forward to returning to the stage when he was invited to Chautauqua as a guest artist. It had been four years since his last role in a theater production, when he played Burleigh Grimes in New Group’s 2007 production of “Expats.”

James Badge Dale Hits The Stage

James hits the stage once again in the new play “Carve” by playwright Molly Smith Metzler and presented by the Chautauqua Theater Company.
“Carve” the story of Josh Darbin (James Badge Dale) a 38-year-old Brooklyn painter, who gains fame from his painting, initially thinking it was just an imagined image, but in time revealing a deeper history.
The play opened July 27th 2011 in this year’s New Play Workshop Festival running July 21-31 in the Bratton Theater, Chautauqua, New York.
The cast of “Carve” includes James Badge Dale (Josh Darbin), Andrea Syglowski (Jessa Campbell) , Charlie Thurston (Andrew Levitt) and guest artists Carol Halstead (Maureen Speert).
Associate Artistic Director Andrew Borba is directing the play.

North American Premiere of Shame

Shame will have it’s North American Premiere at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival, running from September 8 to 18, 2011. To celebrate five images have been released, you can view them by clicking each image below.
